The sights, sounds, flavours and flair of the twin island nation were showcased yesterday during a special street event to mark Tourism Week.

A food fair featuring local treats like pepperpot, ducana and rice pudding, and a variety of arts and craft stalls lined St Mary’s Street.

Later on, performers including Claudette Peters, Ge’eve and Janine took to the stage along with young pan players and local DJs.

The ‘tourism blast-off’ was part of a week of events organised by the Ministry of Tourism to celebrate Antigua and Barbuda’s culture and boost its economic mainstay. (Photos by Observer’s Samantha Simon)
