Child killed in road accident at Johnson's Point

A two year old girl was struck down and killed in Johnson’s Point this afternoon as she and relatives were walking in the area around 3:50 pm.
The police say the child succumbed to serious injuries to the upper body and appeared to have had internal bleeding.
The two women who were with the child sustained lacerations about the body but their condition was not disclosed. The police have withheld the names of all parties.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the family of three is in custody, the police say.
It is unclear what exactly caused the accident.
This is the second road death for today. The first involved a car crash in which the driver Tyrell Jacobs died and his two passengers were seriously injured.
The two are still hospitalised.
