A member of the interim committee of the Wadadli Calypso Association says recent criticism about the standard of the art form should be a wake-up call.
Several Calypsonians and soca artistes were upset when the Culture Minister E.P Chet Greene said recently that the quality of the lyrics and recordings left a lot to be desired.
But Eugene “King Kaseba” Silcott says the minister’s criticism should drive the artistes to do better.

That is interim committee member of the Wadadli Calypso Association, Eugene “King Kaseba” Silcott.
He’s speaking ahead of the organisation’s meeting this evening from 6:30, at the Multipurpose Cultural Centre.
King Kaseba says he’s hoping for a good turnout, so that the Calypsonians can decide how to respond to what he says are recent controversial decisions that the Festivals Commission has made.
