Defending Premier Division champions, Greenbay Hoppers, could possibly find themselves outside the top three finishers in the competition, this year, following a third loss this season.
The Greenbay men were stunned by relegation-threatened Tryum FC, on Saturday, going down 1-0 in the feature contest at the Antigua Recreation Ground (ARG).
The lone strike of the contest came from Eli Greene in minute 20 as Tryum jump to 14 points but remain ninth in the 10-team standings. Hoppers, on the other hand, remain on 31 points with the possibility of getting to 37 should they win their two remaining encounters.
Grenades, who were slated to play on Sunday, could get a maximum of 40 points, pushing Hoppers into the number three position. Former champions Old Road, could also get to 37 points.
Meanwhile, Liberta Blackhawks improved their chances of remaining in the top flight with a 3-1 victory over Old Road in Saturday’s opening fixture.
Akeem Weekes led the way for Liberta with goals in the second minute and minute 63. Former national player Lennox Julian scored the other goal in the 4th minute.
Liberta move to 15 points and third from bottom in the standings. They are one point ahead of Tryum and two adrift both Pigotts Bullets and SAP FC, both on 17 points.
Old Road had their lone strike of the contest from Stefan Smith in minute 23 as they remain on 28 points and fourth in the standings.
