Bethesda captures Thursday League title

Caribbean Union Bank (CUB) Bethesda Golden Eagles captured their second major title this year, beating Pigotts Crushers by two wickets this week to lift the Antigua Commercial Bank (ACB)/ Sir Viv Richards/ American Airlines Thursday League title.
Batting first at the Police Recreation Grounds, Crushers posted a total of 164 for seven in 30 overs.
National and Leeward Islands player, Jermaine Otto, top scored with 59 while Brandon Jno Baptiste made 30. Veteran fast bowler, Gavin Tonge, was the pick of the bowlers for the champions, picking up three wickets for 33 runs.
Bethesda, in reply, reached their target at 167 in 30 overs. They lost eight wickets in the process. Shacoy Floyd top scored with 58 runs with a contribution of 29 coming from Tariq Benjamin.
Elroy Francis Jr. was best with the ball for Crushers, claiming three wickets for 31 runs.
Bethesda, on their way to the final, had beaten Future Stars by seven wickets in the semifinal while Crushers defeated Rising Sun by four wickets.
The Eagles had captured the 2018 Cool & Smooth T20 Explosion earlier this year.
