Burton’s Laundry All Saints Pythons are eager to rebound following their crushing nine-wicket defeat to PIC Liberta Blackhawks on Tuesday, adding they are relishing a rematch with the defending champions in this year’s finals of the Cool & Smooth T20 Explosion.
President of the All Saints Cricket Club, Justin Joseph, believes his team is itching to prove a point and will get past Empire in Saturday’s semifinal slated for 4 pm at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.
“The guys are determined to bounce back and I do believe somebody is going to pay for it though. I would love to meet Liberta again for the simple reason that the series is 1-1 [both teams have met twice in this competition and have won a game each]. We both have to go out on Saturday, get the job done so that we can square off in the finals to decide the series,” he said.
All Saints, before their loss to Blackhawks on Tuesday, were perfect in this year’s competition, winning their first three matches in Group A to earn a spot in the semifinals.
“I told you, when I took office, that All Saints will be competing and not participating. We have been knocking at the semifinals and the finals for the last two years. This year, I think we have a pretty good composition but we just have to get over the line, do the basic things right and play simple cricket,” he said.
Caribbean Union Bank (CUB) Bethesda Golden Eagles and People’s Insurance Company (PIC) Liberta Blackhawks will clash in Saturday’s feature contest starting at 7 pm.
