Police investigate possible drowning of UK visitor

Investigations are now underway into the suspected drowning of a 56-year old female visitor from the United Kingdom around midnight on Thursday.

According to reports, the UK woman who was not identified up until press time went for a swim and was later found floating face down in the waters of Galleon beach.

The body was removed from the water and transported to the Mount St. John’s Medical Centre where she was pronounced dead by a medical doctor at approximately 12:30 am.

The deceased, who was staying at The Inn hotel in English Harbour, arrived on the island on May 19th and was set to leave next Thursday.
