The Antigua & Barbuda Airport Authority (ABAA) is envisioning that the country’s first aid consciousness will soon be on par with that of Seattle, USA, where almost all working class people are required to be trained in responding to cardiac emergencies.

With the blood bank at the Mount St John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC) hovering at critically low levels, the Ministry of Health expects that its newly commissioned mobile blood unit will better facilitate donations of the life sustaining substance.

Juan Michel Francis was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel charged with possession of marijuana among other drug related offences.

The man accused of fatally stabbing his cousin and friend on Monday night has been released from the Mount St John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC) and is now assisting police with their investigations.

Police have now charged 21yr-old Anthony Joseph of Point for the murder of Gavin Edwards.
