Alleged drug trafficker remanded

Juan Michel Francis was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel charged with possession of marijuana among other drug related offences.
The electrician allegedly tried to smuggle over $100,000 worth of the contraband into the country on Sunday when he arrived on a PAWA Dominicana flight from his native land, Dominican Republic.
Francis, who has citizenship in Antigua & Barbuda, is to return to court on August 30 for committal proceedings on charges of possession, intent to transfer, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, importation and drug trafficking.
