Newbies, Zammine Shipping continue to have a dismal first season in the ongoing Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Volleyball Association (ABAVA) Business Volleyball League.

The newbies who have yet to win a match, pushed their losing streak to 5-0 last Thursday at the YMCA Sports Complex as they were edged out by MEDSO 2-1, in sets.

After winning the first set 15-25, the newbies quite seemingly were on their way to securing their first win of the season but a lack of experience would be their biggest opponent as they could not close out MEDSO in straight sets, falling 25-10 in the second.

With the third and final set underway, it all fell apart for Zammine as they were easily put away by MEDSO 15-3.

In the other match played that night, defending champions Jumby Bay continued their undefeated run in what can be considered their most competitive game yet, this time beating NYCE Clothing Media in straight sets 26-24 and 25-23.

Meanwhile at the same venue on Saturday night Police defeated 77 Bus Service in straight sets 25-19 and 26-24, while MEDSO went under to APUA in straight sets, losing 25-22 and 25-14.

Games will continue on Wednesday night starting at 6:30 when APUA will battle Scotiabank while at 7:30 Inland Revenue Department (IRD) will face MEDSO.
