Zamine Shipping continued their faultless run in the Cool and Smooth Joma Sherma Jackson Mandy Premier League by securing two impressive victories, while weather played spoilsport in the day’s earlier fixtures.

The opening matches of the day between TG Welding and Construction Solutions, as well as Buck and Sons versus PEL Mix Stars, were both abandoned due to wet conditions affecting the wicket and outfield. Following tournament regulations, all four teams were awarded five points each.

Once play became possible, Zamine Shipping showcased their dominance with a seven-wicket victory over an in-form TG Welding. The latter posted 92 for eight in their allotted 10 overs, as Malik Jacob led the charge with an explosive 32, including five sixes, while Essan Warner contributed 28. The bowling highlight came from Zack Thomas, who claimed the tournament’s first hat-trick en route to impressive figures of four wickets for eight runs in two overs. Dorian Grant supported well with one wicket for seven runs.

In response, Zamine Shipping cruised to victory with three balls to spare, reaching 93 for three. The chase was perfectly orchestrated by Mervin Higgins and Tyrone Williams Jr, who both scored 37 runs. TG Welding’s Hughan Tonge (2/8) and Richie Thomas (1/3) provided some resistance but couldn’t prevent the defeat.

Carrying their momentum forward, the Shipping side then secured a 39-run victory over Grill Box AGSPT in their second match.Williams Jr continued his fine form with a match-winning 57, while Higginsadded 13 in their total of 89 for seven. Kadeem Josiah and Shaquan Reifer picked up two wickets each for Grill Box.

The Grill Box chase never got going as they were bundled out for 50 in 9.4 overs, with Demetri Lucas‘s 16 being the only notable contribution. Erwin Mathrine was the destroyer-in-chief with figures of four for 10, while Mary Browne chipped in with one for six.

Thomas and Sacha Michael were named players of the game for the first match, while Mathrine and Browne received the honours in the second contest, capping off a day that began with weather disruptions but ended with some exciting cricket action.
