Two Antiguan youth footballers left the country last week in the hopes of securing a professional football contract in the UK.

National youth players, Troy Jules and Amali Colbourne, both garnered the opportunity after being identified as two of the top “footballers with great potential” during the 2019 CAF University Identification Combine by Kettering Town FC and local club, Generation Next FC.

The trials for the USL Club, South Bend Lions will take place at Kettering Town FC in England from the 8th to 15th August.

In the unlikely event that none of the Antiguan footballers are successful in this endeavour, Jules and Colbourne have confirmed they will remain in the UK and will be playing for GNFC-Gloucestershire in Division 2 of the Cheltenham Association League.

Jules last played for Pigotts FC in the ABFA league while Colbourne represented Green City.

Colbourne is a past student at the Ottos Comprehensive School (OCS) while Jules graduated from the Princess Margaret School (PMS).
