Young Warriors break losing streak

Bailey’s Jewelery Young Warriors broke their 12-game losing streak as they recorded their first win in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Second Division competition on Wednesday.
Warriors edged out Blackburn Palace, 2-1 in their Zone 2 encounter with Caric James netting twice for the victors in the 49th and 60th minute.
Zabuda McCoy (78th) was the lone goal-scorer for Blackburn.
Despite winning the match-up however, Young Warriors remain at the bottom of the table in the 11th spot with 5 points while Blackburn remain in 9th place with 11 points.
Meanwhile, Point WestHam had a better day than neighbours, Blackburn Palace as they found themselves
in the winner’s circle once again.
WestHam who now sit on 29 points in second place, trounced Tamo FC 2-0 in their Zone 1 match-up.
Youngsters, Anderson Herbert and Orel Edwards scored in both the 8th and 14th minute for the victors.
Tamo remain in the 7th spot with 16 points.
Games will continue today [Friday] as Mahico Stars will host CPTSA Wings at 4:20 p.m. in the lone Division 2 encounter, while in the First Division, PIC Liberta Blackhawks will host Island Original John Hughes and Ace Trucking and Heavy-duty Equipment Glanvilles FC will visit Lion Hill.
All Saints United will face Ottos Rangers at 5 p.m. at the Antigua Recreation grounds while at 7 p.m., FC Aston Villa will play Hill Top FC.
