Young Rivals remain winless in Business Basketball league

The agony for A-Mobile Young Rivals continued on Thursday night in the ongoing Cool and Smooth Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business League.
The young team have yet to record their first win of the season as they suffered their eighth straight loss at the JSC Sports Complex versus Police Vertex, losing 54-47.
Despite a 15-point effort by Dante Scotland, Young Rivals could not overcome the lawmen who were led by Quincy George with 12 points.
Teammate, Roosevelt Browne, contributed with 11 points for Police.
Defending champions, Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board (ABTB), who were also in action on Thursday, pushed their record to 9-1 with a convincing win over Rackaman Cleaners, 108-80.
Bryan “Hollywood” Matthew sank a game high 39 points for the champions with assistance from Kareem “Macky” Edwards and Keithroy “Chicken” Telemaque who netted 22 and 11 points respectively.
Cleaners’ Adrian Carniege had 29 points while teammates Franklyn “Spiderman” Corbett scored 16 points and Jaheem James, 12.
Angel Chatham also of Cleaners chipped in with 10 points in a losing effort.
In the other matches played that night, Pointe FM defeated Blue Waters, 68-53 while APUA Water went under to Dixie, 80-55.
Russel Daley had 19 points for Pointe FM while Ishan Peets netted 20 for Blue Waters.
Dixie’s Kirwan Peterson had 24 points while Iornie Joseph was the leading scorer for the watermen with 15 points.
