A-mobile Young Rivals broke their 13-game losing streak on Sunday night at the JSC Sports Complex as the young and vibrant team stunned FLOW 63-56.
The Cool and Smooth Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business league match-up saw Jeffrey George drop a 23-point performance to move Young Rivals to a 1-13 record.
Shamari Bascus netted 16 points for FLOW while teammate Benjamin “Benjie” Meade sank 12.
Former champions, Kennedys joined Young Rivals in the winners’ circle after picking up a big win over APUA Head Office.
Despite a 25-point effort by Delornje Jules, APUA Head Office could not capitalise on two crucial plays to snatch a well-deserved win away from the former champs.
The double overtime match-up saw national player, Xavier “Xman” Meade rise to the occasion to lead his team with 25 points.
He was assisted by Morlon “Little” Davis who had 15 points.
With this win, Kennedys now move to third place on the 20-team standings with a 12-1 record having played one game less than frontrunners, Pointe FM and Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board.
In the other matches played that night, Blue Waters defeated Fitzroy Rewinding 59-39 while Rackaman Construction Cleaners went under to Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority (ABAA) United 56-35.
Ishaan Peets had a game high 23 points for Blue Waters while Fitzroy’s Kwame Payne sank 14.
Airport’s Sergio Symister had 14 points while Franklyn “Spiderman” Corbett netted 10 in a losing effort.
