Young Lions thrash Bassa in Division 2 encounter

Young Lions FC thrashed BASSA SC, 3-0 on Thursday afternoon in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Division 2 encounter.
With the match playing in Old Road, the home team led by Conrad Willock who scored twice and Rick Gordon secured a much-needed win over the former Premier league champions.
With this victory, Young Lions jump to 5th place in the 11 team standings in Zone 1 with 10 points while BASSA slipped to 7th place with 6 points.
The Blue Jays suffered a loss on their home field falling to Tamo FC, 1-2.
Josh Greetings and Terrance Spencer scored for the victors while the lone goal for the Cedar Grove team came from Mitchell Francis.
The Blue Jays now drop to 9th place with 3 points while Tamo FC skipped to 4th place with 10 points boasting a higher goal difference than Young Lions with plus 2.
The lone Zone 2 matchup saw St. John’s United edge out Blackburn Palace FC, 2-1.
Gary Barnes and Romer Gidderisingh both scored for United.
Lashawne Charles was the lone scorer for Blackburn.
United now move to the second position with 13 points while Blackburn dropped to 9th place with 3 points.
