Young cyclists get tough results at Caribbean Junior Championships

Young cyclist Tahje Browne was Antigua and Barbuda’s best performer at the recently concluded Caribbean Junior Championships held in French St Martin over the weekend, finishing sixth in the 17-18 men’s time trial held at Sandy Ground.

Browne clocked 28:22.222 seconds in the race that was captured by Jahkim Carty of St Martin in a time of 27:17.573 seconds. Jomari King, the other Antiguan in the race, clocked 32:39.308 to finish 13th overall. King also competed in the 17-18 Men’s Road Race and finished 15th overall

Meanwhile, Aiden Tonge registered a time of 17:47.53 to finish ninth overall in the Juvenile Men’s Time Trial. The race was won by Guadeloupe’s Noe Carrere who clocked 15:17.04 seconds. Tonge also contested the 15-16 boys Road Race and finished 15th overall.
