After a hiatus of over three years, the newly resurfaced track at YASCO was a hive of activity on Sunday.

The Antigua and Barbuda Athletics Association hosted its first Meet and saw athletes from PSE, Panther’s International, Hurricane Power, Wings, SuperNova and a host of unattached athletes taking part.

Among the outstanding performers were the first two athletes to book their spot to the 2021 Carifta Games in Bermuda in August.

Competing in the Triple Jump, Alyssa Dyett and Mia Macintosh, both trained by Marlon ‘Genesis’ Mack, attained the qualifying standard for the U17 girls Triple Jump.

Dyett hopped, stepped and jumped her way to 11.67 metres, while Macintosh leaped to 11.48 metres. Both athletes well exceeded the 11.25 qualifying standard set.
