There were wins for the National Under 21s in the Division A, Roman Hill in the Mixed Division and Defante Stingers in Division U16/B of the Cool and Smooth Antigua and Barbuda Netball Association’s Netball League on Saturday at the YMCA Sports Complex.
The Under 21s barely held on to a win over S W Electronics Black Lightning as they won 21-20. Shooting for them were Zhanira Pereira 12 from 23 attempts, Stacia Henry 5 from 9 attempts, Joy Shaw 2 from 7 attempts and Jahida Payne 2 from 13 attempts, while for Black Lightning were Karol Carlton with 13 from 17 attempts, Paula Jackson 2 from 4 attempts and Zaine Frederick 5 from 6 attempts.
Roman Hill United continued their great form in the competition with a 22-18 win over S W Electronics Black Lightning. Their shooters were Carl Kirby 4 from 7 attempts, Jamila Fitz 6 from 12 attempts and Akiel Hazelwood 12 from 17 attempts. Meanwhile, the shooting for Black Lightning was done by Kareem Edwards with 15 from 21 attempts and Paula Jackson 3 from 7 attempts.
In the Under 16/B Division, Stingers beat S W Electronics Black Lightning B 20-5 as Deniah Henry netted 8 from 20 attempts and Shakrya Prince 12 from 19 attempts. For Black Lightning’s B Team, Keandra Merrick had 2 from 4 attempts, Azaliya Simon 2 from 4 attempts and Tiquesha Charles 1 from 3 attempts.
The next games are scheduled for today, June 10th, and will see two matchings in Division B as Cool and Smooth Pacesetters B and S W Electronics Black Lightning U16 will play at 5:30 while at 6:30 Defante Stingers will meet Old Road.
In Division A, S W Electronics Black Lightning will clash with Roman Hill United at 7:30.
