The 2025 Cool & Smooth Inter-Schools Basketball League tipped off with excitement at the JSC Sports Complex on Monday, featuring intense matchups across multiple divisions.
In the day’s most thrilling encounter, Mary E Pigott Primary emerged victorious in a triple-overtime nail-biter against Golden Grove Primary, securing a narrow 8-7 win in the Mini Boys Primary division. Marcus Weekes led the scoring with 4 points in this defensive battle.
Cedar Grove Primary demonstrated dominant form in their opening fixture, overwhelming Potters Primary 21-2. Emeka Daniel showcased impressive scoring ability with 10 points, while teammate Khai Chaden contributed 6 points to the convincing victory.


Greenbay Primary started their campaign on a positive note, defeating S R Olivia David Primary 13-6. Raylil Rodriguez paced Greenbay with 8 points, while Ashorn Davis led S R Olivia David with 6 points.
In Junior Boys action, Antigua Grammar School made a strong statement with a commanding 48-23 win over Island Academy. Raheem Sawyer led all scorers with 11 points for AGS, while Alexander Fuller topped Island Academy’s scoring with 8 points.
The league, organized by the Ministry of Sports and Cool & Smooth, will continue with games Monday through Friday from 2:30pm at the JSC Sports Complex, featuring competitions across six divisions: Mini Boys Primary, Mini Girls Primary, Mini Boys Secondary, Junior Boys, Girls, and Senior Boys.
