Saturday’s double-header of the ABFA Premier League action saw Willikies Warriors claim a convincing victory while Garden Stars secured a narrow win in their respective fixtures.

The Warriors claimed a commanding 3-1 victory over John Hughes FC. The Willikies team wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Novelle Francis Jr who opened the scoring in just the 7th minute. Zahdeir Forde doubled their advantage in the 24th minute, giving the Warriors a comfortable cushion heading into halftime.

The second half saw Nadre Thomas extend the Warriors’ lead further with a 70th-minute strike, effectively putting the game beyond doubt. John Hughes managed to salvage some pride through Deno Bryan’s penalty conversion in the 82nd minute, but it proved to be merely a consolation as Willikies Warriors ran out deserved 3-1 winners.

In the day’s other fixture, Garden Stars demonstrated their resilience with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Parham FC. The match was decided by a single moment of brilliance from Wilden Cornwall Jr, who found the back of the net in the 15th minute. Despite Parham’s efforts to find an equalizer, Garden Stars’ defense held firm to secure all three points.
