PAHO dismisses fear Tobacco Bill could cause losses

A consultant with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is telling the government of Antigua & Barbuda that it should not worry about suggestions that the Tobacco Control Act will cause the country to lose billions of dollars in tax revenue. In response to those fears, the PAHO’s Consultant Kesaundra Alves  said the law will actually reduce the governments wage bill.

So far one consultation has been held on the Tobacco Control Bill.
