West Indies Women Suffer Second Straight Loss

The West Indies Women suffered their second straight defeat in the ODI format, falling to Australia by 151 runs.

This is a slight improvement from their first loss of 178 runs last Thursday in Coolidge.

Playing earlier today at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground, the home team had to meet a target of 309 runs in 50 overs, but only reached 157 for 8.

Kyshona Knight was the leading batsman for the West Indies with 32 runs while teammate Sheneta Grimmond made 31.

Georgia Wareham took two wickets.

Player of the match, Ellyse Perry, led the Aussie women to victory with an unbeaten 112 runs. Alyssa Healy was second in command with the bat, adding 58 runs.

Australia now leads the three-match series in the ICC Women’s Championship 2-0.

The final game is scheduled for September 11th at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground, starting 9:30 am.
