Essan Warner cracked 116 runs to help Brysons Bullets defeat Strictly Business by 103 runs in the Antigua and Barbuda Softball Cricket Association T10 Mixed (Male and Female) Competition.
Winning the toss and batting first, Bullets got to 160 for one with Warner going berserk on the Business side in an innings that included 17 sixes and two fours in his 116 while Sidella Bellot was not out on 21.
Strictly Business could only get to 57 for nine from their allotted 10 overs with Yolanda Celestine collect three for one run, Warner had two for no run and Kimani George had two for six runs.
In their earlier match against Sisserou, Bullets dominated from start to end, winning with nine overs to spare. Sisserou batted first and made 32 for seven from their 10 overs with Kimani George taking two for seven runs. In return, Bullets raced to 38 without loss in only one over as Deran Benta top-scored with 34.
In another match, Strictly Business defeated PMS by 50 runs in their encounter. They batted first and made 100 for three with Owen Graham being the top scorer with 63 runs and Adrian Abbott scored an unbeaten 18. PMS responded to the target set by getting to 50 for seven from ten overs with Debra Phillip and Egbert Francis picking up two wickets each.
Sisserou suffered their second defeat of the day at the hands of Buckley’s 3J’s, losing by 67 runs. Batting first Buckley’s got to 97 for 2 from 10 overs as Denley Thomas and Kimberley Anthony got to 52 and 16 respectively. Sisserou’s Stacey Telemaque top-scored with 10 with Ashfield Weatherhead starred with the ball for Buckley’s, picking up three for five, while Menover Govia got three for 11.
Buckley’s 3J’s were victorious over Dredgers, winning by 44 runs. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Buckley’s got to 85 for seven as Denley Thomas lashed 25, Randino Turner 23 and Steve Martin got 19. Mervin Higgins was the best bowler for Dredgers with four for 21 while Gaynell O’Garro picking up two for 15. Dredgers were bowled out for 41 in 7.5 overs, as Menover Govia picked up three for six, while Kimberly Anthony and Randino Turner both had 2 for 11.
However, Dredgers bounced back with a nine-wicket win over PMS in their second match. Batting first, PMS got to 92 for 3 with the help of Kenny Benjamin, 28; Denfield Roach, 20 and Clarence Francis, 18.
Dredgers then got to the target in 5.5 overs with Tyrone Wiliams Jr blasting an unbeaten 59 and Mervin Higgins had 23 not out.
