During the past five months, the Grade Six students of the Villa Primary School have engaged in three separate community service projects.
First, there is the Adopt-a-Grand-Friend program which involves the identification and regular visitation of elderly folks in the community, then there is the school recycling club emphasizing the importance of maintaining a clean school environment.
The school has also embarked on a separation of garbage effort. This involves separating regular garbage from that which is supposed to be recycled.
The teaching of old-time games to other students, along with the creation of a local games manual aimed at keeping our culture alive, is also a part of the Villa primary effort.
