In a heartwarming gesture of support for children with special needs, Her Excellency Sandra Lady Williams, serving as President of the Halo Foundation, presented an assortment of wellness equipment to the Victory Center.
The ceremony occurred on Friday at Government House, where Kelly Hedges, the school’s Principal, gratefully accepted the donations.
The thoughtfully curated collection included a soothing rocking chair, an array of soft exercise balls to promote physical activity, high-quality yoga mats for relaxation exercises, and diverse stress balls to aid in sensory stimulation and emotional regulation.
To enhance the learning environment, the donation also comprised an easel whiteboard, complemented by a set of dry-erase markers, and two wall clocks to assist with time management and routine structuring.
Lady Williams explained that the Foundation had chosen these specific items based on the Victory Center’s published wishlist on the Halo website. She elaborated on the Foundation’s commitment, stating its goal to fulfill the needs of one charity under its patronage each quarter, selecting from the organization’s communicated wishlist.
The wide spectrum of challenges tackled at the Victory Center range from Autism Spectrum Disorders to Down Syndrome, and from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to various developmental delays and learning disabilities. The school embraces a diverse array of special needs.
By providing this donation, the Foundation demonstrates its commitment to nurturing institutions that serve these extraordinary children.
Through the provision of these essential tools, the Halo Foundation aims to create an environment where learning flourishes and well-being thrives, empowering each child to reach his or her full potential.
