Two masked gunmen held up a bar early this morning, robbing patrons and shooting a policeman in the process.
The officer, who was also robbed, was shot in one of his feet and has been hospitalised, a source says.
He has been identified as Constable #232 Gage who is attached to the Johnson’s Point Police Station.
According to police sources, the robbers ran into the Martin’s Village bar pointing their weapons and demanding everyone hand over their money and other valuables.
It is not clear why the officer was shot, but at the time he was not dressed in uniform.
After taking the patrons’ wallets, the cash on the gambling tables and other valuables, the gunmen left. This was some time before 1 o’clock this morning.
No one else was injured in the attack.
