Vendors and consumers reminded of food safety

Chief Health Inspector Sharon Martin is urging residents planning to sell food over the long Easter weekend to abide by food safety protocols.

With dozens of fairs and food-based fundraisers planned for the weekend, Martin underscores safer food preparation and storage.

The chief health inspector also warned vendors over the weekend.

Martin says it is important that hot and cold foods are kept at their appropriate temperatures as well, to avoid contamination.
