A resident of Nonsuch Bay is facing five drug-related charges after the police and Customs officials intercepted a barrel containing over 18 pounds of cannabis at Deep Water Harbour last week.
The drug bust was made early in the afternoon of Thursday 8th August when the 28-year-old man, Jaron Philip, went to pick up the barrel. Dogs attached to the police’s K-9 Unit alerted the authorities to the presence of contraband.
Philip, a US national who has been living in Antigua, is charged with possession of 18.5 pounds of cannabis, importation, intent to transfer, being concerned with the supply of the drugs, and drug trafficking.
