There were one-nil wins for Garden Stars and Sap FC, while Parham FC and Pigotts Bullets FC played-out to a three-all draw in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association’s Premier League at the ABFA Technical Centre on Saturday.
In the first encounter between Garden Stars and Old Road FC, national under-20 midfielder Wilden Cornwall Jr scored in the ninth minute to give his side a one-nil advantage and the win.
The second match was a bit more entertaining as Parham FC made sure they secured a point from the match with a late strike in the closing minutes of extra time.
The first goal was scored by Parham’s Kenja Benjamin in the 29th minute before Tyrique Thwaites equalised in the 39th minute with the first half ending one-all.
When the second half commenced, it took Parham only two minutes to go ahead in the score as Jahquan Davis struck in the 47th minute, making the score two-one.
But the Bullets would not allow the 13th place side to enjoy that lead for too long, as Seigel Rodney and Akeem Isaac scored in the 72nd and 81st minutes respectively, forging ahead to a three-two lead.
However, Benjamin came back to rescue his side, registering his brace by scoring in the fifth minute of extra time to end the match tied at three-all.
The final match of the evening saw a major upset as 11th-placed SAP edged sixth-place Villa Lions in a one-nil win, thanks to a strike by Aquan Singh in the 65th minute.
