Under-15s Claim Sub-regional Cricket Title

The Antigua & Barbuda national under-15 cricket team are champions of the Leeward Islands Cricket Board Under-15 Tournament.
This after they kept their perfect record intact on Wednesday by demolishing St Martin by 352 runs in Anguilla.
Winning the toss and opting to bat, Antigua & Barbuda amassed 406 runs from 48 overs, losing six wickets in the process.
Rasheed Henry top-scored with 156 runs while Jaylen Francis was not out on 122. D’Ahri Francis, who shared in a 230-run partnership with Henry, contributed with 30 runs.
Bowling for St Martin, Devanand Singh picked up two wickets for 73 runs from 10 overs while Amarious Harris claimed two for 72 from his 10 overs.
St Martin stumbled gracefully when their turn at the crease arrived, making only 54 before they were all out in 27.4 overs.
Bowling for Antigua & Barbuda, Grayson Cuffy picked up four wickets for five runs from 6.4 overs while Michael Harilall snatched four wickets for seven runs from seven overs.
President of the Antigua & Barbuda Cricket Association (ABCA) Leon Rodney, commended the players on their performance.
“I think they have done us wonderfully proud and to have 406 in 48 overs, even against blind school that has to be magnificent and I am really happy for the guys. I think they were really prepared and to have gone into that tournament and not lose one game, I think the signs are good and I just hope we can continue to find a way to keep these guys busy in terms of training and things like that,” he said.
The victory was Antigua & Barbuda’s fourth straight following wins over the BVI by seven wickets, Montserrat by 99 runs, and hosts Anguilla by eight wickets.
