Turf Masters and Old Timers lead Super Six football standings

After two rounds of matches, Turf Masters and Old Times sit atop the standings in the Over 40 Super 6 small goal football competition being hosted by the Garden Stars FC in Table Hill Gardens, Liberta.

Both teams are on six points after picking up wins in their opening encounters but Turf Masters boasts a superior goal difference of positive seven to that Old Timers who have a positive three goal difference.

In their latest showing, leaders Turf Masters defeated the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen 4-3 on penalties after the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Mitch Watkins and Roderick Johnson both scored once for Turf Leaders. Kevin Warner scored both goals for the losers.

Meanwhile, in their latest outing, Old Timers beat the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen 5-4 on penalties when they met on Sunday. Lincoln Furgus netted twice for Old Timers while Warner and Gason Gregory each scored once for League of Extraordinary Gentlemen as the match ended 2-2 in regulation.

Also on Sunday, Experience defeated Over the Hill, 2-1, with goals coming I Josiah and Geno Carr for the winners. Jerome Jones scored the lone goal for Over the Hill. It was the first win for Experience as they sit fourth in the six-team standings with three points while Over the Hill sit at the bottom of the standings without a point after two losses in as many matches.

In the other match contested over the weekend, Guyadadli Travelers beat Over the Hill 9-0. The victors were led by Kevin Stewart with a hattrick, while Donavan Houston scored twice. There were single strikes from Bryan Ochoa, Arthur Wong and Jerome Lowe.
