(Looptt.com) – An outing to Toco turned deadly when a Canadian couple drowned at the beach on Sunday.
The victims are Trinidad born David Francis, 34, and his wife Jessica, 33, who was born in Dominica.
Reports say they were guests at a sea-front beach house when they went for a swim.
Jessica got into difficulty and David made a desperate attempt to save her but was unsuccessful.
The woman’s body was retrieved on the same day while David’s body was not recovered up until 8 am on Monday.
David previously lived at Fairfield Road, Princes Town.
He and Jessica had a destination wedding in St Lucia in 2019, before he joined her to live in Canada.
A year prior, in October 2018, David lost his brother Prison Officer Darren Francis who was murdered while preparing to leave for work. The 38-year-old was about to enter his vehicle which was parked outside their parents’ home at Hindustan Village, Sixth Company when he was shot.
