Freetown Travellers picked up a crucial win on Thursday night at the JSC Sports Complex in the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division One league edging out Ottos Full Throttle in a bottom-of-the-table clash.
Travellers rallied in the second half after being down by some 20 points to edge out Full Throttle, 65-63 moving themselves out of the dreaded relegation zone.
Former national player, Morlon “Little” Davis led the victors with a game high 24 points and 11 rebounds.
He was assisted by Humroy Wright who sank 12 points and grabbed six rebounds and Iornie Joseph who netted 10 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and made four steals.
CBA player, Brandon Williams had 16 points, 12 rebounds and four assists for Full Throttle while teammate, Shawn “Gizmo” Williams chipped in with 10 points and four rebounds.
Ottos who now hold a disappointing 3-11 record find themselves facing demotion.
Harold Lovell Rockersville increased their chances of returning to the big yard with their latest win over Ottos Officials on Thursday.
Moving to the second spot behind of front-runners, Ottos Coolers, Rockersville ran a clinic on Officials winning, 65-41 in their 2nd Division match-up.
Reggi Cisse led Rockersville to their third straight win scoring 22 points and grabbing six rebounds.
He was assisted by Kevin “Bun-up” Joseph who had 14 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
Officials’ Kareem Jacobs had 10 points and nine rebounds while teammate, Duane Christian grabbed 10 rebounds in a losing effort.
Ofifcials now hold a 3-11 record.
Games will continue at 6:45 p.m. in a 3rd Division encounter as Wadadli Elites will face off against Bolans while at 8 p.m. defending champions, H.U.F. Baldwin Braves will battle HomeTech Systems Outlaws in Division One.
