The Cool & Smooth ABBA Business Basketball League 2024 tipped off on September 14 with two great games at the JSC Sports Complex that set the tone for what promises to be an exciting season.
In the first game of the evening, Sandals dominated Eye Mobile Vision Care with a decisive 63-41 victory. Kim Casey led the charge for Sandals with a game-high 17 points with teammate John Rolland contributing a solid double-double performance with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
Keroi Lee also impressed with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Eye Mobile Vision Care saw a standout performance from Lopez Adams, who topped the stat sheet for his side with eight points, 17 rebounds, and four blocks as his teammate Tehran Zachariah added 6 points to the team’s effort.
The second game of the night saw the defending Champions Antigua Barbuda Transport Board(ABTB) emerge victorious over Lava Smoke Shop in a high-scoring affair, 85-69. ABTB’s balanced attack was led by Russell Daley with 15 points, closely followed by Devorn Benjamin with 14 points. Veteran Marlon ‘Buju’ Charles posted an impressive double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds, while also dishing out 7 assists. Kevorn Cornwall rounded out the scoring with 12 points.
Lava Smoke Shop, despite the loss, showed strong individual performances. Lincoln Weekes led his team with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Bailal Obeidat and Michael Barton each contributed 15 points, with Barton also grabbing 12 rebounds. Delornje Jules added 14 points to the team’s total.
