Defending champions, Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board (ABTB) handed Kennedys their first loss of the 2018 edition of the Cool and Smooth Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business league.
Transport board, led by Marlon “Buju” Charles with 21 points, defeated the former champs 69-57 in the feature match at the JSC Sports Complex.
Charles was assisted by national player, Kareem “Macky” Edwards who sank 20 points and Bryan “Hollywood” Matthew, 14.
Kennedys’ Xavier “Xman” Meade had 16 points while teammates, Sheldon Abrams and Lindsay McDonald netted 11 and 10 points in a losing effort.
With this victory, Transport Board now moves to the top of the standings with a 10-1 record.
Newbies, Pointe FM bounced back from their upsetting loss to Eye Mobile Vision Care last week to defeat Fitzroy Rewinding 59-36.
Selassie Braithwaite led the victors in scoring by netting 17 points with assistance from teammate, Russell Daley who had 16.
Fitzroy’s Nkenge “Beef” Drew had 16 points.
Police Vertex found themselves outside of the winner’s circle once again, this time falling to Eye Mobile Vision Care 69-59.
Daryl Goodwin had a game high 26 points for the victors with teammates, Bernard Andrew and Adonis Humphreys contributing 21 and 10 points respectively.
Dale Gore and Leroy Jeffery had 14 and 12 points for the lawmen.
Dixie lost by default to APUA Head Office as they failed to produce a team.
