The prestigious AUA Rohrman Trail & Swim Fest announced the return of French Olympian David Hauss for its 11th edition, scheduled for April 19-20, 2025. Hauss, who finished fourth in triathlon at the London 2012 Olympics, will headline an event that has become a cornerstone of Antigua and Barbuda’s sporting calendar.

The decorated athlete brings an impressive resume to the competition, including a gold medal at the 2015 European Triathlon Championships and a remarkable streak of three consecutive victories at the challenging Le Grand Raid de la Réunion (2016-2018). His recent triumph at the 2022 Wildstrubel by UTMB demonstrates his continued excellence in trail running, completing the gruelling 108KM course with 6,000m+ elevation gain in just 12:26:06.

Hauss’s participation has already proven inspirational for local athletes, as evidenced by Antigua’s Kamar Thomas’ strong second-place finish behind him in last year’s 15km trail race. His return reinforces the event’s growing international reputation and its role in developing local talent.

The 2025 edition offers a diverse range of challenges, including trail runs ranging from 7km to 25KM, open water swims, and various triathlon events. The trails will traverse some of Antigua’s most spectacular terrain, including Winter Hill, Fisher Hill, and Rendezvous Bay, while swimmers will navigate the pristine waters between Carlisle Bay and Morris Bay.

Starting from its humble beginnings as a half-ironman triathlon in 2012, the festival has evolved into a comprehensive celebration of endurance sports, supported by an impressive roster of sponsors including AUA, Cool & Smooth, and Galley Bay Resort & Spa. The event’s success is further bolstered by crucial partnerships with organizations like Good Humans 268, the Royal Police Force, and the National Olympic Committee.

Early bird registration is now open for athletes looking to test themselves against both the challenging courses and world-class competition. The festival promises to continue its tradition of combining elite athletic performance with the natural beauty of Antigua and Barbuda.

For registration details and more information about the event, interested participants are encouraged to visit the official AUA Rohrman website.
