Saturday’s triple header in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association Premier League served up an entertaining day of football with three matches producing a total of 13 goals at the ABFA Technical Center.
The featured encounter of the evening saw the All Saints United FC come from behind to hand the Garden Stars their first defeat of the 2024-25 season by way of a 3-1 triumph. National striker Raheem Deterville gave United an early lead in the 8th minute, but Karique Knight equalised for Garden Stars in the 16th minute. Vashami Allen restored United’s lead in the 21st minute before Deterville secured his brace and the victory with a goal in the 85th minute.
Green City FC emerged victorious in a five-goal thriller which saw them from behind against Greenbay Hoppers FC, winning 3-2. Kamali Looby gave Hoppers the lead in the 33rd minute, but Carllon Warner equalised for Green City just before halftime. However, after the half time, Kadeem Campbell restored Hoppers’ lead in the 51st minute to take the scoreline to 2-1, then Green City mounted a comeback through Amali Colbourne in the 61st to put the game back into a deadlock. A penalty in the 68th, sealed the win for Green City as Elijah Whyte successfully put the opportunity away.
The second matchup saw Pigotts Bullets SC pepper John Hughes FC, securing a comprehensive 4-0 victory. An unfortunate own goal from Jamoy Stevens (33′) opened the scoring, followed by Akeem Isaac’s penalty (36′). Xavier Smith (42′) and Tyrique Thwaites (45+2′ penalty) added goals before halftime to complete the rout as the victors continued their impressive season.
