National cricketer and former Leeward Islands and West Indies wicketkeeper Devon Thomas has, once again, opted out of representing the twin-island state in a sub-regional tournament.
Thomas, who was named as part of a 19-member training squad last week, has reportedly indicated to the Antigua & Barbuda Cricket Association (ABCA) that he will not return for the tournament scheduled to bowl off today.
The wicketkeeper batsman is currently with the Jamaica Scorpions as a contracted player.
Last year, Thomas pulled out of representing the Leeward Islands in the WICB’s professional leagues and also from representing Antigua & Barbuda in the sub-regional tournaments.
The team comprises Jamaul Fernandez, Tyrone Williams Jr, Kadeem Phillip, Kofi James, Karema Gore, Deran Benta, Vincent Shadrach Jr, Shavorn Moore, Damian Lowenfield, Orlando Peters, Rahkeem Cornwall (Captain), Javier Spencer, Stanny Simon and Jermaine Otto.
The two reserves are Melvin Charles and Michael Dover.
Antigua & Barbuda will start their campaign on Friday when they take on Combined Islands in Liberta.
In other matches scheduled for Friday, St Kitts face Montserrat in Bethesda and Nevis toss up against St Martin in All Saints.
