West Indies slipped to 74 for 3, and lost Brian Lara for 60 with the score on 165. But Ramnaresh Sarwan, with a feisty 105, and Shivnarine Chanderpaul, with 104, fought back bravely. It was left to Omari Banks and Vasbert Drakes, though, coming together at the fall of the seventh wicket with 46 still required, to finish the game off. Banks, playing just his second Test, made a spirited 47 not out, Drakes made 27 not out, and West Indies made history.
