In three days, US President Joe Biden will demit office. He would be succeeded by Donald Trump. Ten years ago, I compared economic competition on the global arena to a marble game. Increasingly in this century, America is losing this game of marbles. It sees its primary competitor as China.
America and the West simply cannot compete with China. They have lost their advantageous ascendancy in the global game of marble playing. As they lose their competitive advantage, government tax revenues decline, unemployment is aggravated, terms of trade weaken. All of these are foundations to the American system, the American economy, the lifeblood of America and the West. As America feels the game slipping, she is doing the bullying thing of mashing up the whole game. She has gone into the mode of planned chaos.
She executes this planned chaos by decapitating defiant governments. Or inciting rebellion within “enemy” countries, or levying sanctions against them. Or using proxy wars to destroy or weaken them; especially those which supply China with energy and raw materials, which she needs for her extensive manufacturing infrastructure. The whole game looks very unpredictable. It looks crazier than ever before.
But it’s very calculated chaos. It’s happening in Ukraine, where America incited a coup (Victoria Nuland and John Mc Cain abetted by Hillary Clinton) in 2014, against the legitimate democratically-elected government, deposed pro-Russia Viktor Yanukovych, and instituted a proxy government, leading to puppet Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This puppet has done its master’s bidding: incited and made war against the ethnic Russians to Ukraine’s East (over 14,000 dead in Donetsk, Luhansk by 2014), refused to accept peace with the Russians (Minsk 1&2) and insisted on joining NATO. Over the last 35 years the West has moved NATO from Germany into Poland, added 20 countries right up to the Russian border.
The idea is to weaken Russia. Russia produces a significant volume of Chinese energy. After Obama decapitated the leaders of Iraq, Libya, tried his best to destroy Assad (Assad Must Go) with brute sanctions, with military incursion, using ISIS, he said, let’s pivot to China. What is the meaning of Pivot to China? You surround China with bases, warships, satellite surveillance, weaponize your CNNs and BBC against China. The US has openly expressed a China “containment” policy.
US mayhem in the Middle East is calculated mayhem. They have deposed Assad, in concert with another NATO power, Turkey, and Israel. Replaced him with their Al Queda/Al-Nusra and ISIS terror proxies. More mayhem. They’re trying to bust Iran, with sanctions, military castration. They’re using Israel as a proxy to “cleanse” Palestine. Once Palestine is in chaos, then the whole of the Middle East is in chaos. American-facilitated genocide is all calculated chaos.
The centre of this calculation is the American Deep State. Why has Biden, a bungling old geezer, become US President? Because he is a Deep State geezer, a willing facilitator of chaos for the Deep State, using sanctions, using proxies, the Zelensky proxy, the Netanyahu proxy, the terrorist proxy now leading Syria. All of that is part of the Deep State practice, modus operandi; and Biden is the apotheosis of this premeditated, calculated chaos in opposition to China.
The problem for the Deep State, the mainstream media (CNN, BBC etc), Big Tech, the military-industrial complex, the banking and corporate structure in America, is Donald Trump. Trump is not part of the Washington/Beltway setup. That is why he is being vilified and flagellated by the Sadducees. Shot at to an inch of his life. He doesn’t want chaos in the Middle East. He doesn’t want war with Russia. He doesn’t want regime-change wars. No proxy wars. He wants to make America great again. If NATO has to die, so be it.
This week, Trump, and his Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, badgered Netanyahu to agree to an Israel-Hamas ceasefire. Biden rushed to claim victory for the ceasefire; despite the fact that his administration air-lifted thousands of tons of arms to Israel since October 2023, ignored the appeals of the UN and the International Court of Justice to end the “genocide”, and blocked ceasefire resolutions at the UN Security Council five times, the latest on 20th November 2024. Fixer vs Mash-Up monger.
Trump want MAGA. Shipping access in the Western Hemisphere; in the Panama Canal, in the Northern Route around Greenland (China’s ‘Arctic Silk Route’). Balanced trade with Canada. An end to invasive narcotics and criminal gangs, to outsourcing US companies, and disproportionate trade deficits with Mexico. He employs trade wars (tariffs), as a substitute for bloodshed.
So, these are two competing strategies. One is based on chaos everywhere, except the West. The other is based on fixing America. Let us pivot to America, fix America. No more regime-change wars, blood for oil. Let us drill in America, “drill baby drill”; use surpluses to diminish our existential national debt (US$36.17 trillion). Bring home US companies. Reduce, using tariffs, trade imbalances. Rebuild our manufactory, infrastructure, military, “peace through strength”. Legal immigration, no catch-and-release. Make America safe again.
Which strategy will win? The strategy of the mashup artists, or that of the fixer? Trump only has four years. The Deep State much more. Even so, the first casualty of strategy is the strategy itself. Strategies are not outcomes. “The most likely outcome is the most ironic outcome.” (Elon Musk, Twitter and LinkedIn Tweet).
