Tamo stun Sea View Farm, Villa remain on top

Tamo FC pulled off a big upset on Thursday afternoon as they edged out Sea View Farm FC 4-3 in their Zone 2 encounter of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Second Division.

Daryl Samuel recorded a brace for the victors, scoring in the 5th and 22nd minutes, while teammates Desmond Christian and Jahkiem Dyett contributed with goals of their own in minutes 21 and 39, respectively.

Chevon Moore earned a hattrick for Sea View Farm as he found the back of the net in the 3rd, 30th and 47th minutes.

With this win, Tamo moved to 9th on the 13-team standings with 11 points while Sea View Farm remain on 19 points in the 4th spot.

Green City joined Tamo in the winner’s circle after beating Blackburn Palace FC, 3-1.

Sylvester Fenton was a goal shy of a hattrick for the victors, hitting home in the 28th and 56th minutes. Travis Barett was the other goal scorer for the country team.

Tarique Gomes scored the lone goal for Blackburn.

Green City jumped to 5th with 17 points, while Blackburn are 12th with six.

Meanwhile, in the First Division, FC Aston Villa moved two points clear at the top of the 12-team standings after their latest win over Willikies FC.

The 1-0 victory saw Omega Jeffrey find the back of the net.

Former Antigua Premier League (APL) champions, Cool and Smooth ACT Empire defeated Fort Road FC 2-0 at home.

Rakeem Joseph was the chief marksman, scoring by way of penalty kick in the 44th and then in the 56th.

The Gray’s Green team moved to second with 23 points, while Fort Road remain in the 9th position with 11 points.

Newly promoted team, Bolans FC suffered their first loss of the second round as they went under to Tryum FC, 2-0.Daryan James and Akeem Francis were the goal-scorers for the victors which moved them on to 21 points in the 4th position while Bolans remain 8th with 13.
