Demarre Swift’s hat-trick powered Ottos Comprehensive School (OCS) to a commanding 8-0 victory over JSS in Monday’s Cool and Smooth Joma Male Under-16 football action.
Swift, who was named Player of the Match, found the net in the 16th, 45th, and 58th minutes as part of OCS’s dominant display. His teammates Tafari Looby and Shamoy Chiddick each contributed doubles, with Looby scoring in the 10th and 24th minutes, while Chiddick struck in the 11th and 19th minutes. D’Hari Barthley completed the rout with a 57th-minute strike.
The day’s most thrilling encounter saw All Saints Secondary School (ASSS) and Irene B. Williams School (IBWS) battle to a 3-3 draw. IBWS’s Najae Morton matched Swift’s achievement with his own hat-trick, scoring first in the 7th minute before Naheem Carbon drew the match level with his strike in the 21st. Morton then pulled his side ahead in the 31st to give his side a 2-1 advantage, and then added more misery to the Irene B side when he completed his hat-trick in the 46th minute. However, All Saints responded with a double strike from Kamine Brodie in the 54th and Kymani Francis in the 55th.
Princess Margaret School (PMS) also impressed with a 4-0 victory over Sir Novelle Richards Academy. The win was built on braces from both Shamar Walters, who scored in the 3rd and 26th minutes, and Roshan Samuel, who found the net in the 38th and 55th minutes.
The day’s schedule was impacted by two defaults as SMSS failed to show for their match against AGS, while GSS defaulted their fixture against CHSS.
