Suspect held in eight homicide for the year

St. John’s, Antigua – A 60-year-old Marble Hill resident was allegedly strangled overnight.

Police investigating the matter say they already have a suspect in custody.

Spokesman Senior Sergeant William Holder says the male suspect was picked up early this morning.

Roy Randalle was discovered dead at his home shortly after engaging in a scuffle with a family member.

While it appears he was strangled, Senior Sergeant Holder said an autopsy has to be done to determine the cause of death.

This suspected strangulation brings the number of unlawful deaths to eight.

Meanwhile police are awaiting a toxicology test result to determine whether 13-year-old Anisha Millette was also murdered.

Millette’s body was discovered at Devil’s Bridge and the autopsy was inconclusive.

In 2011 there were nine murders in Antigua and Barbuda.
