Despite a valiant effort from former champions Michael Freeland Enforcers, defending champions Stoneville kept their unbeaten streak on Saturday night in the Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Volleyball Association League.

Stoneville defeated Enforcers 3-2 in sets in the lone male division encounter of the evening at the YMCA Sports Complex.

It was a see-saw battle in the highly contested match-up as Enforcers drew first blood winning the first set 19-25 but Stoneville, showing true grit, rallied to win the next set 25-13.

It looked as if Stoneville had the game in hand in the fourth set but Enforcers would push forward coming from behind to win 21-25 and push to a deciding fifth set.

But Stoneville would not allow their opponents to get an inch of momentum and dominated the final set to win 15-9, and continue their unbeaten campaign towards back to back titles.

Meanwhile in the other match played that night, Jets defeated North Coast Hardware Starz 2 in straight sets, 25-18 25-12 25-14.

The action will continue on Wednesday starting at 6.30pm when Paragons face North Coast Hardware Starz 1 in the female division. Immediately following that encounter, Sharks will battle Enforcers.
