Stingerz buzz as Full Throttle goes all out in Division One basketball

LJ Northside Stingerz was brutal in Division One of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABAA) competition on Sunday night, hammering Baldwin Braves by 40 point, winning the feature contest by a 96-56 margin at the JSC basketball complex.  

Akeem Boyd and Kenny Doumechet, both laying off the bench, led the scoring for Stingerz with 18 and 17 points respectively. Boyd also claimed six rebounds. Vivian Destin and Keroi Lee contributed with 15 and 10 points each while Lee also had 10 rebounds.

In a losing effort, Shavaun Francis sank 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds while Felix Hamilton contributed with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

In the other game contested Sunday, Ottos Full Throttle beat Rockersville 84-73 to win by 11 points. Lincoln Weekes shot a game-high 36 points and grabbed five rebounds while Warren Bogle contributed with 15 points and eight rebounds. Shawn Williams and Mark Samuel each had 12 points, also in the winning cause.

Roversville’s best effort came from the bench with Kevin Joseph sinking 21 points and getting 14 rebounds while Nigel Joseph and Walton Christian adding 18 and 16 points respectfully to the effort. Joseph also grabbed 14 rebounds.
