An 89th minute strike from forward Malcolm Stewart saw Antigua and Barbuda’s Sandals/Inet Grenades FC walk away from their clash against Haiti’s Ouanaminthe FC with one point when they met in Group B of the Concacaf Caribbean Cup at the Moca Football Stadium in the Dominican Republic.

Grenades would welcome the point after having fallen behind 2-1 in the second half of the exciting contest after they had initially opened the scoring in the first half.

Captain Quinton Griffth, after picking up a yellow card in the 11th minute, put Antigua and Barbuda ahead nine minutes later. Ouanaminthe drew the scores level on the stroke of halftime when striker Joseph Willinx scored his first of two goals.

Willinx continued to torment the Grenades’ defence in the second half, finding his brace in the 67th minute to put his team ahead, 2-1.

The draw moves Grenades to two points after three matches and fourth in the five-team standings, while Ouanaminthe remains at the bottom of the standings, also with two points but with an inferior goal difference to that of Grenades.

Grenades face Moca FC in their final group encounter on October 1 while Ouanaminthe take on Cibao on the same date.
