Potters Steelers rallied to their third straight win in Division 1 of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) competition on Thursday night with a commanding 79-54 triumph over Ottos Full Throttle at the JSC Basketball Complex.
Steelers were dominant throughout the clash, outscoring their opponents in all four quarters. They dominated the first quarter 18-10, won the second quarter 20-15, outscored Full Throttle 21-13 in the third and won the fourth quarter 20-16.
Cohen DeSouza was the top scorer for Steelers with 21 points while Kareem Edwards dropped 16 points and grabbed six rebounds. Keroi Lee contributed with 11 points and five rebounds.
In a losing effort, Warren Bogle top scored for Full Throttle with 18 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Akeem Davis contributed with 10 points and eight rebounds.
In the other game contested Thursday, Northside Stingerz won their first encounter in three outings, edging Ottos Warriors 73-71. The contest took several interesting turns with Warriors edging Stingerz 14-13 in the first quarter. Stingerz then rebounded to take the second quarter 20-19 before Warriors came out on top in the third, outscoring Stingerz 23-21. Stingers then rallied in the fourth quarter to outscore their opponents 19-15.
Ammiel Williams led the charge for Stingerz with 23 points and six rebounds while there were 13 points each for Jevonte Valerie and Te-Ran Zachariah. Zachariah also snatched nine rebounds while Valerie grabbed five. Sadiq Phillip hit nine points and 12 rebounds.
For Warriors, Lincoln Weekes had a game-high of 27 points while Zuri Nesbitt picked up 11 points.
