The baby boy who was abandoned on a stranger’s doorsteps in Gray’s Hill earlier this year is now duly registered.
“Baby John Doe”, as he had been dubbed, is now named Elijah Mathew Aaron.
Social Transformation Minister Samantha Marshall told OBSERVER media that the process was done through the court.
“The courts have already granted the order for declaring date of birth and the name of the child. The situation in terms of foster parents, Department of Family and Social Services is going through applications now.”
The processing of applications for potential foster parents would involve careful vetting of those who have indicated the desire to care for the baby, Minister Marshall said.
