St Lucia’s Anthony, Vincentian King among winners

CASTRIES, St Lucia, Apr 29, CMC – St Lucia’s Marvin Anthony and Vincentian Keithland King both scored easy victories on the second night of the Invitational Boxing tournament here Friday.
Fighting in the middleweight division, Anthony defeated Joshua Redhead after the Grenadian’s corner threw in the towel in the second round of the contest at the Beausejour Indoor Facility.
King, meanwhile, also gained an easy victory against Roy Cook after the Dominican’s corner called it quits also in the second round.
Antiguan Uriah Desilver won his bantamweight clash in similar fashion against St Lucian Marcus James.
In the lightweight category, Grenada’s Jerome Joseph secured victory against St Lucia’s Kareem Boyce after the referee stopped the contest in round two.
Grenada were also dominant in the light welterweight class with the referee stopping the contest against Kibwana James of Antigua and Barbuda.
Another second round stoppage by the referee resulted in Javier Marty of St Lucia defeating Antiguan Justin Sorianofranco in the middleweight division while Timon Gilbert of Grenada won a unanimous decision after three rounds of his light heavyweight clash with  Dominica’s Delroy Jno Charles.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel Joseph of Dominica won a split decision over Jarvis Regis of Grenada in a light heavyweight bout while Grenadian Shevon Lewis did likewise in his super heavyweight encounter with  Leran Regis of St Lucia.
Barbadian Kiomel Miller won a referee stopped contest in the third round against opponent Lance Robinson of Antigua in the welterweight division.
